Jane Austen
Local author from Bath, England, United Kingdom
Jane Austen (1775–1817) was born in Hampshire and lived for some years in Bath. Her six novels, published anonymously in her lifetime, turned the courtships of the English gentry into sharp, funny comedies of manners.
