Where can readers see all your books in one place?
A reader finishes your book and wants the next one. Your website hasn’t been updated in a year, your social profiles bury your books under posts, and each store’s author page shows only what that store sells.
Your author page
Every author on LocalBooks gets a page of their own: your photo, your bio, where you live, your website and other links (social media, a newsletter), and every book you’ve listed, with covers.
It also appears on your area’s page under “Local authors”, so readers browsing their town meet you before they meet your books.
Pen names, kept apart
Write under more than one name? Add a pen name from the same account. Each one has its own author page and its own books.
Ready for search engines
Your author page tells search engines who you are, where you’re based and which books are yours, in the structured format they understand. It’s listed in our sitemap like every public page.
How to set up your author page
Open My books
Sign in, then go to My books. If you haven’t made a profile yet, LocalBooks asks you to create one.
Your author name
Use the name exactly as it appears on your books.
Where you live
Country and region; the city is optional. This puts you in the local authors list for your area.
Bio, photo and links
A few sentences about you, a photo, your website and other links, like social media or a newsletter.
Save, then add books
Click “Save profile”. Every book you add under this name appears on your page.
Add a pen name (optional)
Under Author profiles, click “+ Add a pen name” and repeat.
What it costs
Your author page is free. Listing books follows the pricing: your first book is free.
Questions
Do I have to show my exact town?
No. The city is optional; your region is enough to put you among its local authors.
Can readers email me?
LocalBooks never shows your email address. Readers reach you through the links you choose to add.
Can I have more than one pen name?
Yes. Each pen name gets its own author page and its own books.
Will my author page show up on Google?
No one can promise rankings, but the page is public, in our sitemap and marked up for search engines, which gives it a fair chance.
