## Description

Or, Why You Feel the Way You Do. In 1929, with every bookstore full of earnest new manuals on sex and psychology, two young writers at The New Yorker, James Thurber and E. B. White, wrote a mock one: chapters on "The Nature of the American Male," "Frigidity in Men" and "What Should Children Tell Parents?", solemn footnotes, and Thurber's first published drawings, the wobbly dogs and bewildered husbands that made him famous. A deadpan parody that still lands.
